BIFACIAL SOLAR PANELS

Residential Roof Solar Panel

Powerbay’s N-Type TopCon technology bifacial solar panels are a type of photovoltaic technology that harnesses solar energy from both sides of the panel. Unlike traditional roof solar panels, which only capture sunlight from the front, bifacial panels are designed to absorb sunlight that strikes both the front and the rear surfaces. This dual-sided capability allows them to capture and convert additional diffuse and reflected sunlight from surrounding surfaces, such as the ground, snow, or nearby buildings, thus potentially increasing their overall energy output.

Benefits of Residential Solar Panels

1. Our residential solar panels are designed to capture energy from both sides, unlike traditional solar panels that only absorb sunlight from the front. This unique design allows bifacial panels to harness not only direct sunlight but also additional light reflected from surrounding surfaces.

2. N-type modules offer several advantages, including lower power degradation, higher bifacial performance, a low temperature coefficient, and improved performance in low light conditions.

As a result, they can generate up to 5% more power than P-type modules at the same installed capacity, significantly lowering the kilowatt-hour cost of PV systems and enhancing the profitability of PV power plants.

Main features of bifacial solar panels:

Thanks the high-efficiency N-type cells, Powerbay’s solar partner has introduced three series of high-efficiency N-type products specifically for us, showcasing their latest innovations in module research and development, as well as mass production capabilities.
  1. Transparent or Semi-Transparent Backside: The rear side of bifacial solar panels is designed to allow sunlight to pass through, often using glass or a clear polymer, enabling the capture of reflected light.
  2. Increased Efficiency: By capturing sunlight from both sides, bifacial panels can achieve a higher efficiency and energy yield, especially in environments where there is significant ground reflection or where the panels can be mounted to optimize light capture.
  3. Durability: Many bifacial panels are built with robust materials such as glass on both sides, providing enhanced resistance to environmental factors like moisture and hail.
  4. Optimal Installation: They are often deployed in more flexible mounting systems like tilted racks, raised or floating setups, where they can maximize the sunlight hitting the back of the panel.
  5. Applications: Bifacial panels are suitable for large-scale solar farms, as well as roof solar panels for solar panel installation in residential and commercial projects where space and aesthetic are considerations.

Overall, bifacial solar panels are gaining popularity due to their potential for greater energy production, improved performance in low-light conditions, and their adaptability to various installation environments.
